Amy Mickelson, wife of PGA tour golf star Phil Mickelson, announced early last week that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. To help bring awareness to the disease, the PGA Tour is sponsoring a “Pink Out” day at the Crowne Invitational at Colonial on Saturday. Last week stars such as John Daly (pink trousers at the BMW) and Rory Sabbatini (pink shirt at the Byron Nelson) showed their support
for the Mickelson family by wearing pink. Paula Creamer, pro golfer on the LPGA tour, is known as the “Pink Panther” because of the amount of pink she wears during events to bring awareness to breast cancer. Although October is the official month for breast cancer awareness, the news of Amy being diagnosed with breast cancer has spawned an instant campaign of endorsements.
